The Life and Times of James C. Bozeman

 by

James C. Bozeman

This work is dedicated to my parents, James and Ruth Bozeman, who loved me and gave me such a good example of what it means and looks like to "have and to hold, for richer or for poorer, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, till death do us part"!

Mom went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2005. That day was a Sunday! She went to Heaven on a day she loved dearly, Sunday! Dad went to Heaven on Sunday January 8, 2012.

The Bozeman family journey began a long time ago and much work has been done to keep up with the journey. I regret my real interest in the journey has only began to take root in me in the last few years. When Mom went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2005 and then my Son-in-Law Darryl Smith soon followed her, something began to happened in me that caused me to want to know more about my family and our history. Dad has now joined Mom and Darryl in Heaven and I will always remember when, standing at his Granddaddy's grave, he said, "I never knew my people" and so I must continue to research and learn about our "people" who are our family. So with that said, it is clear to me that time spent on a Family Tree is time well used. Now that is Biblical and you can prove that with the Bible! When all is said and done, I thank God that "we once existed".

Introduction:
The Bozeman Family History is one that has seen our people in many different roles of life in America. We have been a part of American life as Farmers, Soldiers, Pastors, Mill Workers and the list goes on. We have moved through this country from Virginia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and other places I am not aware of as yet. Most of my line of the Bozeman family have been farmers and our roots are deep in the land of Covington, County Alabama.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
